KELLI PINKERTON, RAD RTS
Kelli Pinkerton began her own dance education as a very young child in Arkansas with the Broadway star, Sally Riggs, where she studied ballet, tap and jazz. Upon moving to Oregon, her passion for ballet took over when she earned a role in Eugene Ballet Company’s, “The Nutcracker”. She danced as a student for the production for 5 more years and became the first local Salem student to be chosen to dance the role of Clara. After her time as a student, she was chosen to dance at Eugene Ballet Company’s professional level.
As a student, Kelli studied the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus with Marjorie Soriano and Elfie Stevenin and passed all examinations with distinction. She competed in the first Margot Fonteyn competition, placing second in the entire Northwest and continued to the national level in New York City. Kelli has been accepted into nationally acclaimed programs with Boston Ballet, Alvin Ailey, Joffery Ballet and Houston Ballet. Kelli also studied dance at Cornish College of the Arts where she danced with their company in original works by Pat Hon and Magai Messac.
Ms. Kelli started her teaching career by being an assistant at the ripe old age of 10! She has taught in many local schools over the years and has students currently in dance programs at college levels as well as dancing with professional companies. Ms. Kelli has choreographed original works for competitions that have received high marks and created her very own rendition of “The Nutcracker” with a cast of over 50 students. As an academic student at McKay High school, she frequently filled in as assistant dance teacher and choreographer assistant. She performed in Brigadoon, Oklahoma, Guys and Dolls and Fame on the McKay stage under the direction of Kristin Andersen and Dee Montgomery-Smith. Teaching her peers became a pivotal moment in learning how to teach. Seeing that not everyone learned in the way she did, really opened her eyes and fueled her passion to teach.
Ms. Kelli has recently completed her Registered Teacher Status with the Royal Academy of Dance.
Aside from the dance world, Kelli is married with three children. She home schools her children and is also active in her church. She has also been a certified CPR/First Aid instructor for 10 years.

Marjorie started taking dance classes as a young girl at Chehalem Valley Dance Academy in Newberg, Oregon. There she studied ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, musical theatre, and ballroom. There she really fell head over heels with hip hop. She continued her hip hop career and studied at MVP Dance Elite and eventually joined a crew in Portland. Marjorie has had the priviledge to have worked with many talented choreographers and has studied under some of the most influential dancers in the world of hip hop including Tabitha and Napoleon D’umo, Dana Wilson, Twitch and many more. Marjorie has won scholarships and awards from organizations like: Monsters of Hip Hop, Joe Tremaine, OnStage and has been continually blessed by every opportunity that dance has given her.
Marjorie truly believes that dance skills are life skills. If it wasn’t for the confidence she developed in the studio she wouldn’t be the young lady she is. Hip hop is a fun genre of dance that is all about finding your inner confidence and letter it shine through. Marjorie is so excited to be teaching hip hop this upcoming year! In her class, students will learn not only the basics of the artform; but also how to take the lessons they learn in the studio back into their other classes, school, and other activities they do. Marjorie is looking forward to working with Kelli, one of her incredible instructors growing up, her new studio Ballet Arts Northwest, and all of you! This is truly a dream come true!
